Cibola boys take 10th, girls 20th at state swim meet
The Cibola boys took 10th place at the 5A-II Swim & Dive Championships on Saturday at the Kino Aquatics Center in Mesa.
The Raiders' 200-yard medley relay team of Jake Kaba, Andrew Russell-Cheung, Caleb McClure and Jon Smith finished sixth with a time of 1 minute, 46.75 seconds.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Jaron Boggs, Jake Stiffler, Kaba and Russell-Cheung finished 10th with a time of 3:31.86. The 200 freestyle relay team of Boggs, Stiffler, Smith and McClure finished 10th with a time of 1:36.64.
Russell-Cheung also finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.07) and 14th in the 200 freestyle (1:55.68). Kaba also finished eighth in the 100 backstroke (59.99) and 14th in the 100 butterfly (58.98).
Ryan Keough took seventh (1:05.06) and Stiffler took 13th (1:08.65) in the 100 breaststroke.
In diving, Smith finished 13th with 268.8 points and Drayke Marynik finished 30th with 79.5 points.
The Cibola girls finished 20th.
