Hawk girls 12th at state swim meet
The Gila Ridge girls team was 12th at the conclusion of the 5A-II State Swim & Dive Championship Meet Friday and Saturday at the Kino Aquatic Center in Mesa.
Hawk junior Emily Reh placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and eighth in 100-yard freestyle. Reh was the No. 1 seed heading into the 50 free and No. 6 in the 100 free and the runner-up last season in the 50 free.
Kayla Hodgin was 17th in the 200 free. On the boys' side, Chace Williams placed 13th in the 200 free and 16th in the 100 free.
Yuma High's Myriah Frabasilio placed fourth in the 200 free and seventh in the 500 free and Ashton Hobbs was 13th in the 100 free.
In the 5A-I meet, Kofa's Johnathan Duran placed 10th in the 50 free with a time of 22.09. Duran also placed 11th in the 100 free with a time of 48.33.
