$359,000 in marijuana seized
Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested three alleged drug smugglers and seized about 718 pounds of marijuana during three incidents Sunday and Monday.
The seized marijuana had a total estimated value of $359,000.
Sunday night in the desert south of Gila Bend, agents tracked two people by using night vision equipment. The agents arrested the two Mexican citizens and seized about 413 pounds of pot.
On Monday while agents were patrolling the Davidson Canyon on the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, they found 300 pounds of abandoned pot.
Later Monday, agents arrested a person, whose identity was not released, after about five pounds of marijuana were allegedly discovered in a vehicle at a California Highway 78 checkpoint.
