ALYSSA OLEA
Alyssa Olea, a senior at Cibola High School and daughter of Peter and Victoria Olea of Yuma, has been awarded a Maroon and Gold Scholarship to attend Arizona State University beginning this fall.
She plans to major in kinesiology, the science of human movement, and then return to Yuma to pursue a health-related career in that field.
She was also selected to participate in an ASU summer transition program that helps high school seniors become adjusted to college life. The weeklong program in June will cover topics such as money management, time management and university resources.

GALETEA JEAN EYKAMP
Good grades earned Galetea Jean Eykamp of Yuma a place on the dean's list at Mercer University in Macon, Ga., for the fall semester.
Founded in 1833, Mercer offers degrees in such disciplines as liberal arts, law, pharmacy, medicine, business, engineering, education, theology, music, nursing and continuing and professional studies.
