America turns away from God

Although I prayed for different outcome in the general election, the vote reflected the will of the people.

America has turned its back on God, and the historians of the future will refer to the year 2012 as the tipping point when America voted against our constitutional form of government for a socialistic form of rule and secularistic principles over godly principles.

With the vote tallies in, it was apparent that the majority view the sanctity of marriage, abortions on demand, personal accountability and God in the public square as deterrents to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

However, before you liberals take your victory lap, it's best to consider what lies ahead. With $16 trillion in national debt already and an insatiable appetite for freebies and entitlements, it is only a matter of time until we go over the proverbial cliff financially and our dollar loses its value and becomes worthless.

With this financial collapse and worthless money and nowhere to turn, people will be disinclined to labor for phony money and will hit the streets demanding food, water electricity, etc., and that's when anarchists will seize control and freedom will be sacrificed forever.

Sour grapes? No, just the facts.

We Americans have lived as though there was no tomorrow. We have become enamored with our lifestyle our “things” — our money, cars, homes, pensions, electronic toys, travel, the TV fare and our favorite sports team are all most important and uppermost in our thinking.

God is a stranger in most homes and seen as too demanding anyway. In fact, religion in academia is seen as dangerous and a product of myth. Those who favor God's presence and availability in and out of the four walls of their sanctuaries are seen as right-wingers and religious nuts too heavenly minded to be of any earthly good.

No political solutions can solve what has happened to America. The mess we find ourselves in is not a financial one — it's a moral one. Our politicians with our full approval and our own lack of moral stamina have brought this on ourselves. There is no denying the facts.

If anyone has any idea that the Democrat or the Republican ideologies can turn this thing around, they are in fantasy land. We have a moral problem, not a socioeconomic problem. We have strayed away from the principles that made us great in the first place. God is no longer welcomed or needed in our lives. His commandments are trashed and no longer viable, and until we experience a change in our lives, we will have already passed the point of no return.

America's greatness will just be considered as a blip in history and time. There is only one who changes hearts and minds and that is God! He is the one to whom the founders pledged their lives and fortunes. Until we insist on allegiance to the Almighty, our future is questionable.
