Antelope rams Gila Bend
The Antelope boys basketball team bounced back after a close loss on Monday night to beat Gila Bend 65-45 at home on Tuesday.
The Rams (1-1) led by 20 at halftime before outscoring the Gila Monsters 18-6 in the third quarter to ramp up their lead to 59-27 and mix in all 10 of their varsity players.
"We played really good in the second and third quarters and did very well defensively, forcing turnovers and scoring off them," Antelope coach Ron Bratton said. "I'm happy with the way we came back after a tough loss and played with hustle and stretched a lead out to 32 points."
Chris Weimer led Antelope with 16 points and five rebounds, while Devar Jamerson and A.J. Cota each had 12 points. Erick Hernandez added eight more.
The Rams will be on the road Monday at Holtville, Calif.
