New women's apparel store coming to Yuma Palms

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A new retailer is getting ready to open at Yuma Palms Regional Center. Coco Fashion Studio, a women's apparel retailer, will be located in the Village area next to Regis in the space formerly occupied by Crescent Jewelers.

It's a locally owned business by Carolina Carlos and Francis Costanza, who say the inventory of casual to work and dressy apparel will "always be changing, always new styles ... quality fashions at affordable prices."

They've been working hard on the 1,400-square-foot store to give it a face lift and a big-city look. They hope to open in early June. The store's phone number will be 388-6049.

It's moving time for National Bank of Arizona's commercial lenders, home mortgage group and administrative offices.

Come Tuesday, they will be moving into the bank's new regional office at 538 E. 16th St. They are expected to be open for business in their new location Wednesday, joining the former 4th Avenue branch, executive banking services and Zion Direct (the bank's investment arm), which had made the move earlier.

Until now, the various offices have been scattered among the bank's branches around the community.

In addition to the regional center, the bank will continue to maintain its branch operations at 2415 S. Avenue A, 3218 S. 4th Ave. and 11031 E. 40th St., said Tom Thompson, bank president.

To reach the various offices located at the regional center, call the branch and Zion Direct at 373-6900, executive banking at 373-6942, commercial lending at 373-6970 and mortgage lending at 373-6950.

A grand opening of the new Yuma Main Library, 2951 S. 21st Drive, will be held Thursday, kicking off at 6 p.m. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and refreshments will be served.

All are invited to attend and see Yuma's newest library, said Sarah Wisdom, library spokeswoman.

The new library will have an inventory of books, magazines and music; meeting and study rooms; cafe; and a Friends of the Library bookstore.

The volunteer-run bookstore is expected to be open regular library hours for the sale of used books, CDs, videos, audio books and newer magazines as well as gift items, Wisdom said. Donations are welcome - "gently used, please."

The search is on for a vendor for the cafe, which will serve coffee and other beverages and light snacks. If interested, call the main library number of 782-1871, which will transfer from the Heritage Library - that library will be getting a new phone number, which is 783-5415 as of May 19.
