On Deck: Giving thanks for college football rivalries
Despite what you may have been previously told, Thanksgiving week is not about pilgrims, turkeys or planning sessions to snatch every store's Black Friday doorbuster special before 7 a.m.
It's about rivalries.
Unfortunately, this year's menu will likely leave college football fans willing to pass on a second helping. The battles for bragging rights in Oklahoma, Florida, Virginia, Georgia, Washington and southern California have seen much better matchups than the ones being trotted out this year.
The Grand Canyon's State's Territorial Cup between Arizona and Arizona State should be a doozy too. Arizona, a once-promising team that quickly fell from Rose Bowl hopeful to Poinsettia Bowl hopeful, should have no problem whacking a 4-6 Sun Devils team that will have another year of quarterback controversies on the horizon regardless of what happens on Saturday.
Where does the line at Walmart start?
