Arm the teachers to solve problem

NRA is not responsible for Sandy Hook or any other mass shooting. You might as well blame GM for people dying in cars. Why was this young shooter allowed to get access to these guns? Why weren't these guns locked up, and if they were, how did he get access, especially with his mother knowing her son was very dangerous?

Sandy Hook School in Newtown, Conn. is a “gun free zone” in a state with severe gun restrictions placed on its citizens. Town Center Mall in Clackamas, Ore. does not restrict patrons from carrying a gun and Oregon is a “shall issue concealed carry permit state.”

The difference in outcomes between the two murderous rampages is striking and simply cannot be disputed by anyone who looks at the two incidents with a rational mind.

There were 26 dead at Sandy Hook Elementary in comparison to 2 dead at the shopping mall.

Here's why...

After two people were murdered in Oregon, just the PRESENCE of a gun (without even firing it) by an armed citizen with a concealed carry permit stopped a murderous rampage in a crowded shopping mall.

Had the principal at Sandy Hook Elementary been armed and trained, we would not be grieving for 26 lives lost at the school.

Why must we as a nation continue to pay such a steep price in grief and shattered lives for failing to do what is right by allowing our teachers to protect themselves and their children?

When are we going to wake up as a nation and realize that arming and training our teachers is the answer?
