Works of art at AWC
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Sometimes homework is beautiful.
Art students at Arizona Western College take homework beyond simple paper, expressing themselves through canvas, photography and sculpture.
Some of those students are sharing their artwork with the public right now at the AWC Art Gallery. Many of the pieces represent an assortment of art classes offered at AWC, ranging from wet photography and ceramics to painting and sculpture. Drawings from AWC's new drawing class at the south county campus are also in the show.
Professor Angel Luna says he encourages art lovers to visit the AWC Art Gallery and explore.
"They will see a very eclectic mix of art with lots of different voices and directions," Luna said.
The student art show will run through Dec. 3, when there will be a closing reception from 4 to 7 p.m.
The AWC Gallery is in the Art Building on AWC's main campus. The gallery is open Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room AB110.
