Featured symposium artists: Rose Sellery
Rose Sellery is known for her whimsical and thought-provoking three-dimensional visual narratives.
Inspired by the spoken word, she reinterprets collected slang, derogatory words and worn, thoughtlessly sanctioned expressions to create pieces that explore the fragility of family dynamics, gender roles, complex social issues and the intricacies of our lives.
Sellery uses materials essential to each piece whether creating sculpture or wearable art and has used such diverse materials as bone, nails, cigarette butts, bedsprings, rose petals, pearls, LED lights, cow intestines and sugar.
