Using magical realism as a simplified way to describe her work, Inez Storer doesn't fall short on providing interesting, complex and imaginative narratives for her works.
Being trained in several institutions, she ultimately received her M.A. from the University of San Francisco. She has taught at several institutions in California, including UC Davis and San Francisco Art Institute.
Storer describes her work as using “a combination of elements … words, painted details, the figure, in some sort of relationship to the various symbols that usually are located around the figure and placed in a theatrical backdrop.” She has exhibited extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
With a working title of "A Long Life After Art School" for this year's symposium presentation, she will take participants through a retrospective of her comprehensive work history.
