For the past two years, Jan and Richard Brothers collected auction items. Park residents donated afghans, custom cross-stitched blouses, a quilted vest, a computer and more for the auction.
The fund-raising auction brought unusual bidding, such as $17.50 each for five cakes baked by a resident, and three pies sold for $100. Meals were money raisers: a Cow Camp Supper for four brought $225, a special brunch for six tallied $80 and a gourmet dinner for four, $120.
More fund-raisers were Ron and Sandy Pardue and "crew" serving lunches; sales of cookies, recipe books and quilted coasters; and a quilt raffle.
