Arizona Western meets donation goals for campaign
The Arizona Western College Foundation recently announced that they met their donation goals for the first year of the Dreams to Reality campaign.
“In September of this year, the AWC Foundation, based on generous support from faculty, staff and community members, was able to pull down the first year match in a five-year fundraising campaign called Dreams to Reality,” stated AWC officials.
“This campaign was made possible by the successful grant application called Steps to Success, which AWC won in 2010, creating a federally-funded match for all local donations to a specific endowment up to $1,000,000. The donations are on a timed schedule and annual goals must be met to maximize the match.”
The $182,080 raised for the endowment during the first year, along with dollars raised during subsequent years, will go to benefit low-income students, faculty development, campus improvements and special campus programs.
During the second year of the campaign, the AWC Foundation plans to focus on more community outreach and education to create awareness about the endowment, as well as promoting the positive economic impact an educated and skilled workforce can have on a community.
“As foundation donors, we really believe in the Dreams to Reality concept,” said Jane Peabody, AWC coordinator of physical and wellness education, and new AWC Foundation board member.
“Contributing to this endowment means your donation will never go away. It's going to be available for scholarships for as long as this college exists.”
