YRMC's First Baby: A Miracle is Born

Jaimie Harvey can't recall anything about Parkview Hospital, but his name remains in the record books. Jaimie, born at 2:19 a.m. on Aug. 15, 1958, was the first baby born at the hospital now known at Yuma Regional Medical Center. His parents are John (deceased) and Lorraine Harvey. Jaimie's younger brother Earl also was born at Parkview.

The family was in Yuma because John was stationed at Vincent Air Force Base, Jaimie said. John Harvey was transferred a couple of years later. Jaimie has never returned to Yuma and doesn’t know anyone here.

Today, Jaimie is a supervisor for the Maryland Transit Administration.
