Words that win: I am! I can! I will!
One of the greatest promises given to us by God, assuring success, begins with the personal pronoun “I.”
Divine, qualifying power is provided to those who purpose to achieve. “God can do all things” is an encouraging concept. Consider Paul's perspective of an unchanging qualification. “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13. Moses stated, “…Your strength will equal your days” Deut. 33:25.
God desires to be our strengthening enabler as we do our best. The capacity to never quit is realized when the challenge is started with no intention of quitting — even if it seems, at the time, we are losing. Quitters never win, and winners never quit.
A little boy was heard talking to himself as he strutted through the backyard, wearing his baseball cap, carrying ball and bat. He was saying, “I'm the greatest hitter in the world.” He tossed the ball into the air, swung at it and missed. “Strike one!”
Undaunted, he picked up the ball, threw it into the air and said to himself, “I'm the greatest baseball hitter ever,” and he swung at the ball again. He missed again. “Strike two!” He paused a moment to carefully examine his bat and ball.
A third time he threw the ball into the air. “I'm the greatest hitter who ever lived,” he said, swinging the bat hard again, missing a third time. He yelled, “Wow! What a pitcher! I'm the greatest pitcher in the world.”
