Chuckawalla Rhythm Kings

Chuckawalla Rhythm Kings has been voted Yuma Best Local Band for 2007, making this the fourth year in a row.

"Again, a wonderful show of your good taste," joked band member Colby Girard.

"There are a lot of other wonderful bands in Yuma. But our band is not just music, it's entertainment. That's probably why people like us."

"Our songs are kind of rowdy, singalong types. We hardly stand still. We shout at the audience. We drink with them. We toast with them. We tell them dirty jokes."

"We are a mismatched assortment of personalities that get along surprisingly well," he said of the band.

Chuckawalla Rhythm Kings is comprised of four members who play and sing Irish folk music at Yuma venues such as Lutes Casino and Heritage Festivals events. as well as out-of-town gigs.

"Don't let your admiration stop at voting," Girard said. "You can also hire us and buy us drinks."

"Goofy people ought to win Yuma's Best, and we're nothing if not goofy. We are the best; deal with it!"
