Yuma's Best 2012: West Wetlands Park
Best Park, Best Picnic Spot, Best Lovers' Lane (& more)
Yuma's West Wetlands Park just keeps getting better and better - at least in the minds of voters in Yuma's Best.
In recent years, the park at 2200 W. Water St. had been picked by voters in the annual poll of Yuma Sun readers as the area's Best Park and as the Best Picnic Spot. For the 2012 poll, it has again captured first place in those categories, but it also has won in one other category, Best Lovers' Lane, as well as finished in second place for Best Place to Walk or Jog, tied for second in Best Place for a Bike Ride, and tied for third as Best Place to Fish.
The 110-acre park has a pond stocked with fish by the Arizona Game & Fish Department, a disk golf course, asphalt walking path, ramadas and, for children, the Stewart Vincent Wolfe Memorial Playground.
