Blockbuster closes Yuma store
Blockbuster has closed its Yuma store at 2450 W. 4th Ave., Suite 101, because the lease ran out the end of January, said Jim Porterfield, a corporate representative who was in town to help with the closure.
He said the company will continue to operate its Foothills store at 11274 S. Fortuna Road, Suite D. The Yuma employees all were offered the opportunity to transfer to the Foothills store. Terri Young, who managed the Yuma store, will take over the Foothills store as the manager there has moved on.

Amy Song is one busy businesswoman these days. Song, who took over the ownership and operation of Mostly Muffins five years ago, also has become the new owner of Hawaiian Barbecue at Yuma Palms Regional Center.
She wants to let customers know she's cleaned up the restaurant, improved the menu and is committed to providing good customer service. Hawaiian Barbecue is located in The Village near Harkins Theatres. It is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and until 10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Two local law firms have announced their merger. Merging are Hunt, Vatterott-Grogan and Hossler with Meerchaum Law Firm, PLLC. Effective Monday, the new firm name will be Hunt, Grogan, Meerchaum & Hossler.
The principals are Gerald W. Hunt, Jeanne Vatterott-Grogan, Jack Meerchaum and David J. Hossler, with associates Candice L. Orduño and Shawn D. Garner.

Sundance Insurance Agency is moving this weekend into its new building at 2680 E. 24th St. (between Pacific Avenue and Avenue 3E), announced co-owner Don Werley. The project took a year but it was worth the wait, he said of the 4,500-square-foot building that was specifically designed to meet the agency's needs. Fowler Malone of Contemporary Homes was the builder, and Foothills Bank did the financing.
The independent agency offers all the usual insurance products as well as workers compensation, Mexican trip insurance and various types of bonds.

Another business on the move this weekend is D&H Music, which is relocating to 2500 S. 4th Ave. (next to Sage and Sand). The business is closed today and Monday with plans to reopen Tuesday at its new location. It will have the same phone number of 782-6221.
The business - the name stands for owners Dave Riley and Hugh Hendren - started nearly 15 years ago, selling CDs and cassettes at Yuma Park 'N Swap. For many years, it has been located at 1628 S. 4th Ave., where the inventory has grown to include body jewelry, specialty lighting, posters, T-shirts, incense and other novelties in addition to new and used music and movies. It also has been a supporter of the local entertainment scene by promoting events and selling the music of local talent on consignment.
The store is moving because the property where it's been located is being acquired by the city for roadway improvements. A grand reopening is planned for Feb. 27.

The store's next-door neighbor, Silk Forest, has already moved and is now located at 1322 S. 4th Ave. in the same strip center as Jeannie Wah's Bistro. It has the same phone number of 783-4460.
The shop provides both fresh and silk floral arrangements and delivers, said owner Jennifer Johnson. The shop is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
