YRMC seeks board candidates
If you have a desire to serve your community, an interest in health care and strong interpersonal and management skills, consider becoming a candidate for the Yuma Regional Medical Center Board of Directors.
The all-volunteer board's role is to set policy.
Applications are being accepted until Oct. 15 for four open board positions. Terms are four years; members can serve up to three consecutive terms. Board members must be able to commit to 10 to 25 hours a month, which includes board and committee meetings, in-town and out-of-town educational seminars and preparation time.
An independent advisory committee will review applications and conduct reference checks, then refer candidates to the board's Governance Committee. The Governance Committee interviews each of the candidates and makes a recommendation to the board of directors, which makes the final selection of new trustees.
To request an application packet, call Megan Castillo, board coordinator, at 336-7000.

The workshop will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. four consecutive Tuesdays from Oct. 16 to Nov. 5 at the AWC Entrepreneurial Center, 1351 S. Redondo Center Drive. Cost is $375, with a $50 discount for Yuma County Chamber of Commerce members. To register, call 317-6151.
