‘A time to laugh' … for goodness' sake

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, and a cheerful mind works healing …” Proverbs 17:22 (AMP). Potential of a refreshing moment of restoration is possible as this short story (copied) concludes:

Two young boys, ages 8 and 10, were excessively mischievous. They were always in trouble. Mom and Dad knew if any troublesome mischief was occurring, their sons were significant contributors.

The boys' mother was aware of a minister who successfully counseled children. She asked and the minister agreed to give guidance to the boys. The younger boy came in the morning for his session and the older was scheduled in the afternoon.

The minister, a huge man with a booming voice, sat down the younger boy. He asked him sternly: “Son, do you know where God is?” The boy's mouth dropped open. He didn't respond. He sat there wide-eyed with his mouth open. The minister, more sternly, repeated, “Do you know where God is?” Again, the boy did not say a word.

The minister raised his voice even more, shook his finger at the boy and shouted, “WHERE IS GOD?”

The boy, terrified, yelled and ran from the office, all the way home. He went in his closet and shut the door. His brother found him in the closet hiding. The brother asked: “What happened?”

The younger brother, gasping for breath, said: “We are in BIG trouble this time. GOD is missing … and they think WE did it.”
