AWC clothing drive under way for children

The Arizona Western College Student Success Center is asking the community to donate clothing for less-fortunate students during its 6th Annual Clothes for Tots drive.

Donated items will go to kindergarten through fifth-grade students at Carver Elementary School in Yuma this holiday season.

Vanessa Natseway, Student Success Center coordinator, asked that people sponsor a specific child by donating a new outfit.

“Think of how you feel when someone pays you a compliment; it lifts your spirits, maybe makes you walk a little taller,” Natseway said. “We want the kids to be warm and feel like a million bucks.”

A list of children to sponsor is available at the Writing Center in the SC building on AWC's main campus, 2020 S. Avenue 8E. Donations can be dropped off by noon Dec. 7 at the front desk of the Writing Center.
