Generations Church is the happening place, according to The Sun's readers, who voted it Yuma's Best Place to Meet New Friends.
"That's awesome!" said Rich Witmer, senior pastor. "We have a lot of people here and the people are very friendly. It's a friendly place."
Established in April 2001, the nondenominational Christian church has a regular attendance of about 1,400, he said.
"Our worship is really contemporary." An upbeat, contemporary band with a light show performs during services Saturday nights and Sunday mornings, he said. "We also have a choir that comes in once a month."
After 20 minutes of music, Witmer preaches "a message that is relevant today. We help people apply the Bible to their real lives.
"Our service is one and a half hours long. It's action packed, multimedia-driven, and we have a really, really fun children's ministry."
Services are 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. Sundays. Generations is located at 3185 E. 42nd St., and the number is 344-5500.
