Christian Women's Club After 5 Group will have guest speaker Carole Phillips on Tuesday at Desert Hills Golf Course, Putter Inn Restaurant, 1245 W. Desert Hills Drive.

Blessing of the animals
In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis, Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church will have a blessing of the animals from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Yuma Bark Park, Palo Verde Street west of Pacific Avenue.

Open house
The public is invited to attend an open house 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Oct. 13 for the new Foothills Meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8-1/2E and 36th Street.
The public can preview the various auxiliary organizations within the church, including the Relief Society, the church's organization for women; and the Primary, the program for children. The meetinghouse includes a chapel, cultural hall, several classrooms and offices. For information, call Tom Thompson at 446-8124.
Aglow brunch
Yuma Aglow Lighthouse will have guest speaker Jackie Lacy Oct. 6 at Ramada Inn, 300 E. 32nd St.
