Ag in the Classroom volunteers
Several members of the Yuma County Farm Bureau were honored for donating their time and service to agriculture literacy through the organization's Ag in the Classroom program.
Through classroom presentations, curriculum kits and ag literacy events, the program reached nearly 118,000 students in Arizona during the 2011-12 school year. In Yuma County, volunteers contributed 37 hours to the program, reaching 7.711 students.
Doug Parry, Seth Sherry, Mark Ellsworth, Jolynn Pangerl and Kyle Hawkey were recognized for volunteering up to four hours last year.
John Boelts, Alicia Boelts, Amanda Brooks and Jon Dinsmore each volunteered between five and nine hours of classroom time, playing an instrumental role in educating Yuma County students about agriculture.
