Comings and Goings

Those hankering for a Quizno's sandwich have a bit of drive to get one around Yuma.

Comings and Goings has confirmed that the restaurants at the Big Curve Shopping Center and Yuma Palms Regional Center were closed within the past week. No further details were available.

They join the shuttered Quizno's at 712 S. 4th Ave. that has been closed for some time.

Also, the Quizno's located inside the Chevron Convenience Store at 10747 Fortuna Road was closed as of Monday, according to John Bornt, general manager for Shay Oil.

The Quizno's at the Coyote Wash Shopping Center was closed and has been sold to a new owner out of El Centro, said Leonard Sanchez, property manager for center. He said the new owner plans to reopen the restaurant in early spring.

Still open and doing fine is the Quizno's at the Dateland Travel Center. That restaurant franchise is owned by Roland and Charna Walker, who also own the travel center.
