How to achieve nirvana while wrestling with the pickle jar
It is fairly easy to experience blissful gratitude when we feel well physically, emotionally and mentally, and when circumstances are going nicely for us. The challenges that arise may make it more difficult to feel calm confidence and a connection to the Divine; yet, those are the moments which provide opportunities to enter into the growing edge of our spiritual evolution.
Whether you are a seasoned meditator, have a sustained prayer practice or simply take quiet time in nature, it is possible to deepen your conscious connection to the Source and feel peacefully and powerfully supported in your daily life. Faithful spiritual practices lead to enhanced well-being. This serene state of consciousness emanates from growing trust in a Power for Good that is greater than we are, yet right where we are, always.
As we build this firm foundation of reliance on the Infinite, it becomes more possible to deal gracefully with unexpected difficulties. Our former instinctive reactiveness begins to transform into a conscious responsiveness, as we master our thoughts and emotions and invite Spirit to lead the way. Along with the commitment to engage in daily communion with God, there are manageable steps we may take to learn other ways to deal with difficult situations or relationships.
Begin with a clear intention to respond, rather than react, to whatever may occur during your day.
Next, open your heart to a different approach to the situation than you may have used unconsciously in the past. Remaining conscious is the key to making these healthy changes. Rather than go on “automatic,” you are creating a new pathway from your heart to the world in which you live, and everyone will benefit.
Finally, acknowledge yourself whenever you find you truly have moved to a higher level of consciousness.
The time will come when your intuition is your constant companion, your conscious intention will carry you through each day and your willingness to respond with serenity, clarity and love will make all things work together for good.
