Dwayne T. Alford, Clyde Sharp
Two cotton industry members from the Yuma area have been elected to leadership positions in the National Cotton Council for 2011.

Dwayne T. Alford, a ginner with Yuco Gin Inc. in Yuma, was re-elected to the NCC board of directors.

Clyde Sharp, a Roll cotton producer, was re-elected as a vice chairman of the NCC's American Cotton Producers. He also was elected as an adviser to the NCC's board.

Seven other Arizona cotton industry members were selected for leadership positions with NCC. The Memphis-based organization brings together industry representatives from the 17 cotton-producing states to ensure that all industry segments can compete in the raw cotton, oilseed and U.S.-manufactured product markets at home and abroad.

Brad Millner
Brad Millner, proprietor of Big Bob's Flooring Outlet and Flooring America in Yuma, recently achieved the highest status conferred by the industry by becoming a Certified Flooring Executive.

He is only the fourth person in Arizona to attain CFE status. To be granted this designation, he had to pass a rigorous certification examination and document specific industry educational training and work experience.

The designation program, administered by the World Floor Covering Association, certifies the highest competency level for flooring career professionals.
