YC golfers roll at Ajo

Kody Boyd eagled on the eighth hole and tied with Yuma Catholic teammate Max Coffeen for medalist honors at the Ajo Country Club on Monday.

Boyd and Coffeen both shot a 37 on the par 36 course, helping the Shamrocks to a team total of 155 to beat Ajo. The total was good enough to earn YC another state qualifying score.

Zack Estes took third shooting a 40, followed closely by Grady Bourguignon's score of 41.

Joey Perricone shot a 50 in his first varsity match with the Shamrocks.

“It was not an easy course for them to play — kind of a desert course,” YC coach Bob Anderson said. “The guys stuck with it and put in the scores that they need to meet the team qualifier.”
