PREP VOLLEYBALL
YC sweeps Tonopah
Kalaina Barnett had 15 kills and 12 digs as Yuma Catholic swept Tonopah 25-21, 25-20, 25-18 on Tuesday.
Amanda Milnick added 10 kills, eight digs and four aces for the Shamrocks (6-3). Chelsea Mendenhall had 34 assists while Madison Brazeel had 16 digs.
PREP GOLF
Singh, Yuma High boys win
Rajinder Singh shot a 42 on Tuesday to lead Yuma High to a 201-223 win against San Luis.
Teammate Sage Miller shot a 44 to take second. San Luis was paced by Antonio Rosales’ 50.
“It’s great to see us improve by 25 strokes from last week,” Yuma High coach Nate Jurgens said. “It shows the work we’re putting in at practice. I can’t wait to see what next week holds.”
Havasu tops Gila Ridge, Kofa girls
Lake Havasu shot a 193 as a team to win a three-way match on Tuesday against Kofa and Yuma High.
The Hawks shot a 216, while the Kings only had three golfers and no team score.
Onammi Garcia finished with a 45, one stroke behind Havasu’s Bailey O’Neill.
