Random inbreeding of dogs a problem
In reading the account of the 2-year-old child killed by an Akita/Chow mix, we must realize that in these mixes we have "many genes" of the "guard" variety, which can add up to an explosive nature as they mature from a "soft fluffy puppy."
The random inbreeding of these different breeds is having an effect on personalities that is showing up in our neighborhoods. The East County Animal Guardian Angels are seeing a lot of dogs with an "attitude" at a very young age. Our only solution is tighter restrictions on roaming dogs and spay/neutering.
We must realize the responsibility we have to society when we allow unwanted puppies and kittens to be born. Better we not have them at all.
Support your local spay/neuter clinics and you will see the difference.
