Two treated after semi-truck rollover
The driver of a tractor-trailer and a passenger were transported to the hospital after being involved in a single-vehicle rollover late Monday night. Their identities have not been released to the public.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident happened at about 11:45 p.m. while the semi-truck was traveling eastbound on Interstate 8 and milepost 8. The cause of the rollover is under investigation.
When emergency personnel with the Yuma Fire Department arrived on scene, they found the driver trapped inside his cab and worked for about an hour to pull him out safely.
The driver and passenger were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for treatment and later released.
The eastbound lanes of I-8 remained closed to through traffic until about 5 a.m. Tuesday while the semi-truck and the attached trailer were removed.
