Drivers need to pay attention

This item is for the drivers out in the eastern end of the Foothills.

In 62 years of driving, I have never had a moving citation, nor have I been involved in an accident. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I follow all the laws, whether I am in traffic or the only one on the road. This includes using my signals. I also practice defensive driving. I learned that to make a left-hand turn, you almost come to a stop at the end of your lane, enter the intersection, and make a 90-degree turn.

Once a week, I have to go through the underpass from North Frontage to South Frontage. The drivers on South Frontage are doing at least 45 mph, hardly slowing down at all, and begin their turn before getting to the end of their lane, thereby cutting my lane by as much as a car length.

I am tired of stopping under the pass because of their stupidity and disregard for the law.

Beware the next time you see a beautiful silver Cadillac, dent- and scratch-free, with a big truck tire mounted on the left front fender. It might be me, and I won't have to stop under the pass for you any more.
