KAWC holding election forum with KYMA
Yuma city council candidates will be present at an election forum held by KAWC, Colorado River Public Media in partnership with KYMA News11.
The Yuma City Election Forum will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, in the North Wing of the 3C Conference Center, 2020 S. Avenue 8 E.
General election candidates in attendance include: William Craft, Paul Johnson, Gary Knight, Jacob Miller, Daniel Sanchez and Gary Wright.
The event will be two hours long from 6 to 8 p.m. During the first hour of the event, candidates will take questions from KAWC and KYMA reporters. This portion of the event will be broadcast live on KYMA Channel 11 at 6 p.m.
At 7 p.m. there will be an informal meet and greet allowing the community to interact and speak with city council candidates. Refreshments will be served.

AWC to hold fall choir concerts in October
Two performances of the Arizona Western College’s annual Fall Choir Concert are set for the first weekend in October.
The first concert will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1550 S. 14th Ave., and the second will be held on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 298 W. 3rd St.
Both concerts are free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.

EMT refresher course offered for certification
AWC’s Public Safety Institute is offering a three-day refresher course in Emergency Management Training for those looking to renew their EMT Certification.
To register for the course, which will be $245, call the Public Safety Institute at 317-6452.
The course will be offered Oct. 10, 17 and 24 on the main campus in room SI114 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
