Help is available upon request
Consider the potential! God, creator-owner of the universe, makes unlimited help available. The All-Powerful who said, “Nothing is too hard for me,” Jeremiah 32:27 [MSG] declares, “Call for help when you are in trouble .. I'll help you.” Psalm 50:15 [MSG]
The 6-year-old boy and his father were preparing the ground for a garden. The young boy was determined to move a large boulder by himself. His father was watching him struggle and encouraged him in accomplishing his self-accepted challenge. “Go on,” said his father, encouraging him, “I'm sure you can do it.”
The boy strained his muscles to the point of breaking. The big boulder would not budge. The possibility of giving up was evident. “Try again,” the father said. An all-out, nothing-held-back effort was made. Still the boy could not move the imposing stone. The father spoke with care to the boy, saying, “Put everything you've got into it.”
The boy expressed his heart to his father, saying in a declaration of despair, “I have put everything I've got into it ... I really have!” “No, you haven't,” the father said. “You have not asked me to help you.”
