FFA members attend leadership camp
Twenty-nine members of the Yuma District FFA recently attended the State FFA Leadership Camp held in Heber. The Yuma District FFA consists of members from Antelope, Cibola, Gila Ridge, Kofa, Parker and Yuma FFA chapters.
Members attending the leadership camp from Antelope included Travis Cullison, Tyler Johnson, Katlyn Jones, Lluvia Juarez, Lindy Murdock, Austin Ruiz and Jessica Shaw.
Cibola FFA members participating were Jaron Boggs, Christian Eckert, Kelsie Faulkner, Summer Hall, Samantha Justice, Jocelyn Newbourn, Alexis Rosas, Rachel Sandoval and Rebba Wright.
Kelsie Grimsley attended from Gila Ridge High School.
Representing Kofa FFA were Miranda Brookhart, Sabrina Hall, Allison Hotel, Dallas Leigh, Gwynn Roach and Amanda Walden.
Yuma High School FFA members attending were Alexandria Eatherly, Sarah Land, Joshua Lopez and Ivan Madison.
Caline Gottwaid and Landon Scott attended from Parker.
During the week of camp, more than 225 FFA members had the opportunity to work with the 2009-2010 Arizona Association FFA State Officers. They also attended workshops that dealt with citizenship, leadership, teamwork, personal growth and responsibility.
Alan Pruitt
Alan Pruitt of Yuma has been named the new director of the Western Arizona Economic Development District.
Pruitt has served as the interim director since February and the board elected to hire him on a permanent basis on July 8.
WAEDD is the regional public liaison for the U.S. Economic Development Administration's Seattle Regional Office. The district encompasses the largest geographical economic development district in Arizona, covering 23,502 square miles, and serves communities in La Paz, Mohave and Yuma counties.
