Yuma High FFA chapter honors members, community supporters

The Yuma High School FFA Chapter recently recognized outstanding FFA members and community members at the 72nd annual Parent/Member Awards Banquet.
 
FFA members who were recognized for their accomplishments throughout the year and the award sponsors were:

-Henrietta Daymon - Agricultural communications, Ebony and Ivory Livestock; and diversified livestock production, Lynn and Jackie Miller.

-Kasey Fry - Agricultural services, Greg and Dawn Freytag; small animal production and care, RDO Equipment Co.; Chapter Star in Agriscience, Allen and Brenda Raney; Chapter Leadership Award, Dallas Nibe; DeKalb Award, H and H Plumbing; Member of the Year, Chris and Damian Liska; and Chapter Scholastic Award, United Iron Works and Truck Body; $250 Helen Neinast Memorial Scholarship, Yuma FFA Alumni Association; and the $500 BSN Farms Landlord Scholarship, BSN Farms.

-Abigail Yepiz - Beef production, John and Val Colvin.

-Rachel Land - Forage production, Ed Whitehead’s Tire; and Chapter Top Hand Award, Gila Valley Farms.

-Taylor Baldwin - Landscape management, Rob and Robin Wilson; and Star Greenhand, Hank and Jinx Green.

-Christina Beshears - Poultry production, Yuma Feed and Livestock Supply; and Chapter Top Hand Award, Dole Fresh Vegetables.

-Holly Hudgens - Sheep production, Danny and Gayle Buchan.

-Ashley Wilson - Specialty animal production, Wedding Coordinating and More By Sandra Gray; and Chapter Star Farmer, Gowan Milling.

-Caitlyn Day - Swine production, Lynn Stacy.

-Jacob Baldwin - Wildlife management, Rob and Robin Wilson; and Chapter Star in Agribusiness/Placement, Yuma Farm and Home Supply.

-William Schultz - Record book award, Jim and Dianne Reinertson.

-Frances Hernandez - Public speaking award, Kasey, Samantha and Jared Fry and Jessica Aripe; and Chapter Scholastic Award, United Iron Works and Truck Body, LLC.
 
Community members Sheila Beshears, Susan Fry and Robin Wilson were named honorary chapter members in recognition of their contributions to the chapter.
 
New officers installed during the banquet were Ashley Wilson, president; Rachel Land, vice president; William Schultz, vice president of chapter development; Jacob Baldwin, vice president of community development; Kaitlyn Matthews, secretary; Ashley Dries-Grell, treasurer; Macey Wildermuth, reporter; Taylor Baldwin, sentinel; Gary Bailey, historian; Holly Hudgens, parliamentarian; and Henrietta Daymon, scrapbook editor.
