Yuma FFA Chapter; Donor network

YUMA FFA CHAPTER

  Eleven members of the Yuma FFA Chapter attended the recent 2008 State FFA Leadership Conference held at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

  Kasey Fry won the State FFA Agricultural Services Proficiency Award. Rachel Land won the State FFA Forage Production Proficiency Award, and Christina Beshears won the State FFA Poultry Production Proficiency Award. Henrietta Daymon was named the winner of the State FFA Chapter Reporter Career Development Event.

  Ten Yuma FFA members received the State FFA Degree: Malyssa Alarcon, Christina Beshears, Caitlyn Day, Henrietta Daymon, Kasey Fry, Brittney Gomez, Rachel Land, Malina Montenegro, Ashley Wilson and Abigail Yepiz.

  The Yuma FFA Chapter received a gold rating in the National Chapter Contest and will represent Arizona during the 2008 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. The Yuma FFA was also recognized as a superior chapter in the state of Arizona. In addition, the chapter received a Gold Ranking in the State FFA Chapter Scrapbook Career Development Event and first place in the Chapter Newsletter.

DONOR NETWORK

  Yuma New Life Society has elected officers. Ken Stanhope will serve as president, Peggy Garcia is the vice president and Maribel Cross the secretary.

  The not-for-profit volunteer organization formed to raise awareness for the need for organ donors and to provide support for those who are waiting for a transplant or have undergone one.
