Yuma's Best 2012: Misenhimer, Aivazian and Tennant, P.C.
Best Accounting Firm
We may pride ourselves on having good sense about dollars and cents, but most of us are so busy earning money that we may have little time left over to figure how best to manage it.
Misenhimer, Aivazian and Tennant's full-time job is to help both business and non-business clients to reach financial goals that they might not achieve on their own.
“We help clients succeed financially,” said Page Misenhimer, one of the owners of the Yuma accounting firm and its president.
The firm, located 3150 S. Catalina, has done well enough by its clients that it does little or no advertising, instead relying on referrals to earn new business.
And the firm has pleased enough of its clients that it has won the honor of Best Accounting Firm for 2012 in Yuma's Best, the annual poll by the Yuma Sun of readers' favorite businesses and services in the area. The firm captured the same honors for 2011.
Misenhimer, Aivazian and Tennant assists individuals, businesses and non-commercial organizations, providing such services as financial reporting, tax preparation, standard bookkeeping, bookkeeping for businesses, training in bookkeeping, business appraisals and financial planning.
In a nutshell, says Misenhimer, the firm's mission is helping clients achieve “financial positioning” — that is, placing them in the best possible position to achieve their financial goals.
Even those who happen to be good business people may not be in the best position to make good financial decisions for themselves, Misenhimer said. Between work, family and other obligations, they may have too many commitments, for example, to keep up with changing tax codes that could affect their tax burdens, or to consider the affects of fluctuating interest rates. Misenhimer, Aivaizan and Tennant can advise and guide people who might otherwise feel too overwhelmed by tax law, and other financial factors to feel confident to make decisions that could benefit them, he said
“It's what we do all day long, every day.”
Each member of the firm's staff specializes in different financial areas, Misenhimer said, but they pull together to serve the client.
“The entire firm works as a team. We meet and talk conceptually as a team to help the client. You get the brain trust of the firm working for you.”
