Route change for Foothills parade
It is that time again, and everyone is starting to ask, “When is the Foothills Parade of Lights?”
We would appreciate if you can put this in the letters to the editor, especially since we have a change of one night's route this year.
The parade will be Dec. 14-16. Vehicles will line up at 46th Street and Foothills Boulevard. There will be an informational drivers meeting each night at 5:45 p.m. before the parade starts at 6 p.m.
On Dec. 14, the parade will go through the residential streets east of Foothills Boulevard and south of 48th Street. On Dec. 15, they will go through RV parks on the South Frontage Road, and on Dec. 16, they will go through RV parks on the North Frontage Road.
The route for Saturday night, Dec. 15, has changed this year. The parade will turn west onto 40th Street off of Foothills Boulevard and continue to Payson, then north to the Frontage Road and west to Westwind RV Park. When we leave Westwind, we will go east to Blue Sky RV Park, then to the RV parks on Payson. Our route will go east on 35th Place to Scottsdale, where we will return to the Frontage Road, ending at Foothills Boulevard and South Frontage Road.
Everyone is welcome to bring their decorated vehicles and join us on Dec. 14; however, please no large vehicles on Dec. 15 and 16.
Route maps for Dec. 14 will be available at the Foothills Mini-Mart, Foothills Hardware, Hank's Grocery, Foothills Eatery, Foothills Bank, Mi Fajita Restaurant and Foothills RV Supply, all located on Foothills Boulevard, as well as the Yuma Visitors Bureau at the Quartermaster Depot. Information is also available online at www.yumacalendar.org or call Denny McClelland at 1-310-339-2621.
