ON DECK: NBA Playoffs
As I was prepping Matt for his shift Sunday laying out the Monday paper, I told him there could be as many as four NBA Game 7s.
About an hour late I said there could be three. Than I saw the Hawks loss. So I said two.
Then a couple hours later, the Rockets and Clippers both lost. And we went from four Game 7s to none on Sunday. Just the Bulls-Nets clincher tonight.
It seemed very perplexing to me that all four games ended the same way, especially given how different all four series were. The Pacers and Hawks hadn't had a home team lose — or anyone care, for that matter. The Celtics and Rockets had all the momentum, and Houston had it against a hobbled foe. And the Clippers have a much, much more talented team than the Grizz.
As if that weren't weird enough, the AL West played four games against the AL East Friday. And not only did the west win all four, they won with shutouts. What a world.
