Change of country means change of menu
A British friend visiting our country once tried to order a chocolate doughnut through the McDonald's drive through.
I was embarrassed and the voice squawking from the box sounded frustrated. My friend insisted that McDonald's carried baked goodies. Well, she was right, but only about what the golden arches serve up in England.
A recent article focused on all the crazy things American fast-food companies serve abroad. Another friend stumbled across this fact once and was quite displeased that other countries aren't just offered different menu items — they were often better than the American lineup. (Big Macs in some countries have FOUR patties). She was ready to write a stern letter to Ronald the clown...
But I'm sure I don't want a Pizza Hut creation in the Middle East that uses cheeseburgers as a crust. I'm also dubious about the pork and seaweed doughnut Dunkin' Donuts serves in China.
Hungry? Me neither.
