Officers arrest suspected Yuma gang members

Yuma police officers and members of the Southwest Border Alliance made several street gang-related arrests after serving warrants on four suspects on Wednesday.

The arrests are part of an ongoing gang-related investigation that began in September and focuses on crimes including attempted homicide, extortion and drive-by-shooting, the YPD said in a press release.

On Wednesday, Ray Parra, 30, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of cocaine for sale, attempted homicide, extortion, participating in a criminal street gang and conspiracy, said police.

Oscar Parra, 29, was arrested in connection with drive-by-shooting, aggravated assault, gang threats, participating in a criminal street gang and conspiracy, police said.

Jesus Rueda Sr., 43, was arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, as was Jesus Rueda, 20, police said.
