Man remains in critical condition after crash
The man who was injured in a car accident on June 21 remains in critical condition in a Phoenix burn center.
Manuel Molina-Fimbres, 19, of San Luis, Ariz., was a passenger in a black Nissan 350Z driven by Francisco Garcia, 20, of Yuma. According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, Garcia was traveling southbound on Avenue G when he lost control of the Nissan, crossed the center line, and collided with an Arizona Public Service Co. guide wire and steel pole. The Nissan came to rest along the east shoulder of Avenue G, engulfed in flames.
Garcia was pronounced dead on the scene by Somerton/Cocopah Ambulance.
Molina-Fimbres was flown to Maricopa Medical Center via Care Flight for life-threatening injuries.
YCSO said that while the accident is still under investigation, alcohol appears to be a factor.
