Antelope tops Gila Bend
Antelope took a big lead early and never looked back, topping Gila Bend 25-14 at home on Thursday.
The Rams (4-13) held Gila Bend to just one point in the first quarter and took a 16-6 lead into halftime.
“Defensively we did pretty good,” Antelope coach Michael Holton said. “We maintained a 10-point cushion throughout the whole game.”
Amelda Maynes put up nine points for the Rams. Maggi Schnieder added six points in the game.
The Rams will play their season finale at 5:30 p.m. today when they host Parker.
PREP BOYS BASKETBALL
Gila Ridge downs San Luis
Gila Ridge outscored San Luis 17-9 in the fourth quarter and went on to win 75-58 on Thursday at home.
Jonathan Turner put up 21 points for the Hawks. Zion Jones was able to add 16 points of his own.
San Luis got within two points midway through the third quarter, trailing Gila Ridge 51-49.
“We broke it open in the fourth quarter,” Hawks coach Louie Pisano said.
Gila Ridge (12-14) will play their season finale at 7 p.m. today at Lake Havasu.
