YC boys get much-needed win
The Yuma Catholic boys soccer team scored two goals in the first 3 minutes for a much-needed 4-2 win against South Pointe on Wednesday.
The Shamrocks (7-4) entered the day 10th in AIA power points, with the top 16 teams making the playoffs when the season ends Friday. Joe Gandara and Memo Perez scored the first two goals, but South Pointe tied the game at two by halftime. Luke Hodges and Gandara added second-half goals for the YC win.
Cody King had 14 saves for Yuma Catholic.
