Goldsboro’s Bakery has been voted Best Bakery and Best Doughnuts for 10 years by The Sun's readers.

“Every year, we are very, very happy to receive the honor,” said Jan Goldsboro, who co-owns the business with her son, Bobby Goldsboro. “We are very surprised because there is more and more competition all the time.

“We try to put the best products possible. We bake from scratch here, just like you do at home, mixing everything to bake it. We don’t skimp on expenses. We use the highest grade flour and shortening, and we pay more for higher grade ingredients, but we want the best possible products for our customers.”

But as for being voted Yuma’s Best, she said, “I think we just have a lot of loyal customers. We’ve had a lot of our customers from day one, and we’ve been here 30 years.

“We started with people’s wedding cakes, and their children’s birthday cakes, and their children’s wedding cakes. Now we’re baking their grandchildren’s birthday cakes.

“We get to know our customers, and the same way we feel about them, they feel about us.”

Goldsboro is a full-line bakery, where doughnuts, pies, about 28 different varieties of bread and other goods are baked fresh daily.

People can order standard or custom-decorated cakes within 24 hours, Goldsboro said.

The original bakery is located at 2360 S. Avenue A, and the number is 782-2272. A second bakery is located at 11805 S. Fortuna Road in the Foothills. The number is 345-0711.
