BEST GOLF COURSE FOR 10 YEARS
The Sun's readers have voted Desert Hills Golf Course Yuma's Best Golf Course every year since the kickoff of the popularity poll 10 years ago.
"It is an honor to once again be voted Yuma's Best Golf Course," said Matt Johnson, golf shop manager, in an e-mail interview.
"This is a proud achievement because it is voted on by the people of Yuma. We pride ourselves on good customer service and providing a good atmosphere for people to get together and enjoy this great game."
Built in 1973, Desert Hills is a par-72 golf course with a full-service restaurant with banquet facilities and a fully stocked golf shop.
"We have two golf professionals that provide private golf lessons as well as swing clinics for groups of all ages and experience," Johnson said.
"All of the staff from Desert Hills Golf Course would like to thank Yuma for another great year and voting us once again Yuma's Best golf course."
Desert Hills is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. The golf shop opens 30 minutes before sunrise, or 6 a.m. in the summer, and closes 30 minutes before sunset. The golf course closes at sunset.
