Teachers should get gun training

There is much being said about the tragedy in Connecticut. In the wake of the school shooting, there are those now who are demanding all guns be outlawed.

Well, there are two types who want this. There are those who actually believe taking guns away from Americans will solve all the mass killings and I understand their fear. Then we have those who want us disarmed so they then can have no fear of our rising up against the agenda of taking over our country and putting us into a communist state of slavery.

The evidence for this is mounting every day. So for those who truly feel removing guns will stop killings, then I suggest you take the time to check out some history on countries that have done this.

First, we had Germany under Hitler. They took the guns. Russia, which has one of strictest laws on nonpossession of guns in the world, some time back had a school shootout which left 177 children dead and over 300 hostages killed. In Scotland in 1952 ,a man armed with guns killed 16 children. The United Kingdom then banned private ownership of most guns and now their crime rate has gone up drastically.

Forget the ones who have the agenda of disarming us to gain supremacy over us, as their agenda will never change and they use tragedy to gain support for their Marxist agenda. As for the others, for just once let common sense prevail as you will find little common sense used by politicians anymore, if ever.

So many agree if just one teacher had been armed, lives would have been saved. There are tons of incidents where an armed citizen saved people from being killed in many public places. But our leftist media does not make this newsworthy.

I as others believe our teachers should have the right to defend the children they are obligated to protect and themselves. So I would encouraged that teachers in our area or statewide take the opportunity to get a free training course in defensive handgun use.

Dr. Ignatius A. Piazza has a large training center in Parumph, Nev., and has offered to train any teacher for free. I, as have a few others in our area, took this course and I highly recommend it. It is highly professional with instructors of the highest caliber. The course runs for two days or four days, and they have trained military and police.

I saw elderly couples going through it, as well as young women and men of all ages. I cannot imagine anyone shooting up a school when they know they will encounter more resistance by guns than they plan on. Times have changed and we must meet the changes that can in this case save lives. Many school districts fear lawsuits. Well, here is your option to take a chance on lawsuits that may not happen or attend many funerals of children. Common sense tells most of us which of the two they would prefer.
