New building doesn't make sense
July 15, headline: Arizona tourists, spending on upswing.
July 17, headline: Yuma area had great tourism year
July 18 headline: Food bank running on “empty”
July 19, headline: County, state jobless rates jump
July 19, headline in Arizona Daily Star – AZ report: Degree no help with new jobs; Over next two years, most openings are expected to pay little
July 22, page 2: Work set to begin on $75M U. of Arizona building
What does the average person make of this? Is this a reflection of the National Problem of government interference and overspending/deficit spending? Think about it. Why do we need a $75M building in this day of computer/Internet? It will cost another $75M in the first five years of operation to staff and maintain the “palace” – errr building.
Jobs ?– don't look good.
